It’s snowing today. I’m sorting through old photographs my father gave me before he passed away. Some go back to the mid-1800s. This one, taken in the late 1920s, just about splits my heart open with the memories I have of listening to my grandparents and parents reminisce about times shared with neighboring farmers and what Christmas was like back in the good old days.
I close my eyes, and suddenly I am there.

While on book tour, I was invited to do an interview with Linda Lloyd on WYPL – FM89.3 in Memphis, TN. The show “Book Talk” was a terrific experience and I enjoyed every moment. Many of my readers have asked for the link so they can listen to the program.

When I bought my old historic home in 1998, I named her Mamie. To celebrate her 112th birthday, Mamie got “jewelry” for her dining room: leaded glass panels made by a local artisan and friend. (Thank you Cliff Kennedy for your amazing work). Mamie also got her kitchen updated and had her interior repainted. I love this old girl so much. She’s not perfect, but she’s perfect for me.
For those who love rehabbing, I’ve included photos of Mamie’s deplorable condition back in the early 1980s (they’re at the bottom of this post).
